Joe Burrow turned a halftime shutout into a runaway victory. Mason Taylor reached the end zone twice, and Malik Nabers added another 100-yard performance to a streak that puts him alongside another LSU great in Giants history.
With Week 7 complete following Dallas’ 38 to 21 victory over Philadelphia on Monday night, former Tigers supplied several of the weekend’s biggest performances. From Cincinnati’s offensive explosion to Patrick Queen’s work in Paris, LSU’s NFL presence stretched across positions and continents.
Burrow and Chase Take Over Baltimore
Cincinnati trailed Baltimore 13 to 0 at halftime before Burrow directed an extraordinary turnaround. The Bengals scored 35 unanswered points after the break and won 35 to 13, improving to 4 and 2.
Burrow completed 22 of 30 passes for 292 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. His passer rating finished at 143.3, and all four touchdown passes came during the second half.
The Bengals scored touchdowns on five consecutive possessions after halftime. Burrow completed 16 of 18 passes for 249 yards during those final two quarters, turning a difficult afternoon into one of his most impressive performances of the season.
Ja’Marr Chase contributed five receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown. His fourth quarter scoring catch extended Cincinnati’s lead, adding another chapter to the partnership LSU fans watched power the Tigers to the 2019 national championship.
Mason Taylor Scores Twice for the Jets
Taylor delivered his first NFL game with two touchdown receptions in New York’s 28 to 25 loss to Miami. He caught five of six targets for 62 yards and added a successful two-point conversion.
The second year tight end accounted for 14 points himself. His final touchdown and conversion brought the Jets within three points late in the fourth quarter, keeping New York’s comeback hopes alive.
Taylor also supplied four receiving first downs, including two third down conversions and a fourth down conversion. His contribution extended beyond the end zone, giving the Jets a dependable option when they needed to keep possessions moving.
According to the Jets, Taylor became their first tight end with two touchdown catches in a game since C.J. Uzomah in 2022. At 22, he also became the youngest tight end in franchise history to accomplish the feat.
Malik Nabers Joins Odell Beckham Jr. in Giants History
Nabers caught seven passes for 111 yards as the Giants defeated Houston 27 to 21 in overtime. A 42-yard reception helped set up New York’s opening touchdown, and he finished as the game’s leading receiver.
The performance marked his fourth consecutive game with at least 100 receiving yards. Odell Beckham Jr. is the only other Giants player to reach that mark in four straight games, accomplishing it twice.
That gives LSU both names on an exclusive Giants receiving list. Nabers continues to provide New York with the explosive production that made him one of the most dangerous receivers in college football.
Patrick Queen Makes His Presence Felt in Paris
Queen recorded 10 tackles, including seven solo stops, and a sack in Pittsburgh’s 16 to 10 victory over New Orleans. The Steelers held the Saints to only 18 rushing yards on 17 attempts.
His sack came at a critical moment. Queen blitzed up the middle and dropped Tyler Shough on third down with a little more than six minutes remaining, forcing a punt as Pittsburgh protected its lead.
The former LSU linebacker helped the Steelers win their third consecutive game. Pittsburgh improved to 5 and 2, with Queen contributing one of the strongest defensive performances of the NFLSU weekend.
Barion Brown Provides a Spark for New Orleans
Brown caught all three of his targets for 57 yards, including a 49-yard gain, in the Saints’ loss. The rookie also added a 42-yard kickoff return and a 20-yard punt return.
His receiving and return work produced 119 combined yards. Although New Orleans struggled to generate consistent offense, Brown showed the speed that can create scoring opportunities and change field position.
Flott Collects Another Interception
Cor’Dale Flott intercepted a pass for the second consecutive week during Tennessee’s 27 to 24 loss to Cleveland. He picked off Deshaun Watson, returned the ball 14 yards and finished with four tackles.
Flott also intercepted Daniel Jones against Indianapolis the previous week. Consecutive games with takeaways gave Tennessee another productive stretch from the former LSU cornerback, even though Cleveland won on a field goal as time expired.
On the other side, Grant Delpit recorded six tackles, including five solo stops, and one pass defended for the Browns. Cleveland improved to 5 and 2.
Perkins and Smith Help Atlanta Beat San Francisco
Harold Perkins Jr. finished with nine tackles in Atlanta’s 29 to 20 victory over previously unbeaten San Francisco. His total included four solo stops and five assists.
Maason Smith added two tackles and a sack for a seven-yard loss. The former LSU teammates contributed to an Atlanta defense that forced four turnovers and helped deliver one of the weekend’s biggest upsets.
Hunter Adds a Sack Against the Giants
Danielle Hunter recorded two tackles and a sack in Houston’s overtime loss to New York. Derek Stingley Jr. added three solo tackles, while Kayshon Boutte caught a 25-yard pass.
The result went against Houston, but Hunter added another sack to his season total. Across the field, Nabers supplied the receiving production that helped New York leave with the victory.
Jefferson Wins, Thomas Contributes on Returns
Justin Jefferson caught four passes for 44 yards in Minnesota’s 16 to 10 victory over Indianapolis. His receiving numbers were modest by his standards, but the Vikings remained unbeaten at 6 and 0.
Chicago rookie Zavion Thomas contributed on special teams during Thursday’s 30 to 24 victory over New England. He returned three kickoffs for 92 yards, including a 47-yard return that helped establish favorable field position.
Jayden Daniels and K’Lavon Chaisson were idle with Washington. Brian Thomas Jr. and Jacksonville also had their scheduled bye, along with Buffalo and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Burrow’s four touchdowns, Taylor’s scoring breakthrough and Nabers’ continuing streak gave LSU fans plenty to celebrate. Queen, Flott, Perkins, Smith and Hunter added the defensive production to make Week 7 another strong showing for NFLSU.
