There has been quite a jump in the point spread of the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl set for January 2. No. 17 LSU (9-4) came out of the gates as the favorite over Purdue (8-5), and the line has only gone up.
LSU opened as a 6.5-point favorite, but the spread hit double digits when several Purdue players opted out including quarterback Aidan O’Connell and wide receiver Charlie Jones, two of the main architects in the Boilermakers’ No. 2 passing offense in the country.
