Transitioning to the gridiron, yesterday we wrote about LSU’s talented newcomers, including two recent cornerback transfers. That led several of you to ask me how many more players LSU can add in the 2023 class. That’s a little tricky to answer for a couple of reasons. One is that there is no longer a 25-man signing cap on initial counters, and the only limitation is that schools cannot exceed 85 scholarship players when fall practice starts. Another thing that makes it tricky is that scholarships are awarded on a year-to-year basis, so it’s hard to know which players who originally walked-on will be on scholarship next year.
