Ole Miss won Saturday night in Oxford, 32-24. Trinidad Chambliss ran the ball in, they converted the two-point try, Jaylon Braxton picked off Sam Leavitt in the end zone, and Lane Kiffin’s first trip back to Vaught-Hemingway ended the way Rebel fans prayed it would.
That should have been enough.
It wasn’t.
Two days later, @LSUReport posted a clip with a simple observation: “Can’t believe Ole Miss fans are STILL crying in the comments two days later.” The replies arrived like they had been sitting on refresh since the final whistle. Sill crying.
Not celebrating. Not posting their own highlights. Not moving on to whoever they play next.
Telling us to move on.
That’s not winning. That’s sore winning.
The “Why Are You Still Talking About Us?” Tour
Rob “Big Krispy” Robinson, Ole Miss DKE ’99, dropped in with the energy of a man who just cashed a lottery ticket and then followed the clerk home:
“Why are you still worried about Ole Miss?”
The Truth (@RandyHa69195220) ran the same line on a loop:
“Can’t believe you continue to be obsessed with Ole Miss 🤡”
“And the obsession with Ole Miss continues….”
“And the obsession with everything Ole Miss continues…..”
Leighton TD (@RollinwitdaRebs) went full poetry:
“Damn this lil cocksucker can’t stop himself, he still hasn’t gone a day in 10months without talking about Ole Miss.”
Ten months. They counted. They kept a calendar. They won a football game and still needed to announce that your timeline is the problem.
That’s not confidence. That’s a fan base that just got a taste of something and is terrified it will evaporate if anyone stops talking about it.
“Focus on A&M” — From the People Who Won’t Leave
The most common note from the visiting section: LSU should stop posting about Ole Miss and start worrying about Texas A&M.
Realist (@Ineedth3truth):
“You are still posting about Ole Miss when you should focus on TAMU. They came into ‘dEaTh VaLlEy’ last year and pushed your shit in.”
Mike (@Saints_LSU_1404), at least claiming to be on the LSU side of the fence, joined the chorus:
“Dude you need to move on. We play A&M next. Ole Miss got us. It’s over for now.”
Helpful. Except the people delivering the advice were still in the comments under an LSU account two days after their own win.
If it was over, they would have logged off. They didn’t. They showed up to police the conversation they claim they don’t want.
That’s the tell. Sore winners don’t just beat you. They need you to stop existing in public afterward.
The Greatest Hits, Unedited
@l99109:
“Can’t believe lsu rly thought they had a chance against ole miss even w a first year HC 😂 we told yall lane was underperforming here and now bro has had us ranked top 5 twice in what 6 games”
Papa Funk:
“Strange thing to say, from a school aspiring to be the Ole Miss knockoff.”
Bingo Shuffles, going for the full Oxford poetry slam:
“Yall been talking shit since December and now that it’s time to reap what you sowed you cry like a bitch. Bend over, put your hands on your knees, and take it like a good boy and thank daddy”
Horace L, doing the “we made your defense look elite” bit:
“I spent two weeks hearing about how bad Ole Miss’s defense was and we made them look Top 10.”
None of this is the language of a program that just handled business and went home. It’s the language of a fan base that spent a decade being the punchline and is now treating one Saturday like a lifetime restraining order.
Winners Don’t Need a Hall Monitor
LSU lost on the road to a ranked team that had ten months to get ready for Kiffin’s return. The Tigers climbed out of a 24-7 hole, tied it, and then came up short on the last drive. That’s football. That’s the SEC.
What isn’t football is camping in the replies of a rival account to demand silence.
You won. Take the W. Post the scoreboard. Wear the shirt. Drink the beer. Leave the LSU page alone.
Instead, Rebel fans showed up to announce that we are the obsessed ones — while quoting, tagging, and refreshing an LSU account that exists to talk about LSU football.
That’s not dominance. That’s insecurity with a 32-24 scoreboard.
Death Valley is next. A&M is coming. The season didn’t end in Oxford.
Ole Miss fans are welcome to enjoy their win.
They just don’t get to write the house rules for everyone else’s comments section while they do it.
Hotty Toddy. Now go touch grass. The rest of us have a Saturday to prepare for.
