There are all manner of polls in college football beyond just the weekly in-season rankings. Particularly in the off-season there will be preseason All-America teams and Heisman watches and even rating bands, tailgating, stadiums, etc . In that last, LSU’s Tiger Stadium is routinely ranked as something along the lines of “toughest place to play” or “best home field advantage.”
