A true freshman, Derek Stingley Jr. entered his first season as a Tiger with lofty expectations, even to LSU’s standards. A bonafide 5-star talent and the No. 3 overall recruit in the country from just up the road in Baton Rouge, it was a dose of old-fashioned home-grown talent for then head coach Ed Orgeron.
