A new ad campaign from PETA—People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals—shows the extreme dangers experienced by canines who are casually left in a car on a hot day, even with the windows partially rolled down.
The organization invited Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu to experience the conditions himself as part of an awareness campaign launching for the summer months.

Much respect to Tyrann for speaking up for dogs! Leaving a dog in a parked car is as cruel and dangerous as putting him or her in a hot oven. Don’t do it–and if you see a dog left in a car, call police immediately.

Tyrann is such a great guy to go endure this to show folks how dangerous it is to leave dogs in cars, even for “just a few minutes.” Please: Leave dogs home, inside, where they are safe and comfortable.

Good for him. No one should ever leave a dog or a baby in a hot car. This happens way too often, usually with deadly consequences.
