An SEC/Pac-12 Las Vegas Bowl would be the Liberace of postseason parties 

If you are an LSU football fan with a reasonably long memory, the 2003 season still leaves you vaguely unsatisfied.

Oh, sure, LSU won the BCS national championship, beating Oklahoma 21-14 in the Sugar Bowl. The Tigers have the trophy and the rings and the banners to prove it, a season immortalized in bronze on the walls of Tiger Stadium.

But yet, there is the gnawing knowledge that out in La La Land, in Southern California’s Heritage Hall, the 2003 season is also enshrined for the Associated Press national title trophy a bunch of smart aleck sportswriters decided the Trojans deserved.
