Loser of LSU vs. Auburn is “done,” says ESPN’s Paul Finebaum

Every game between ranked teams means something. When LSU visits Auburn Saturday, however, multiple seasons are already on the line.

In a division as cut-throat and talented as the SEC West, one single loss could be insurmountable for any team that wants to earn a spot in the conference-title game. For Auburn and LSU, that is what is at stake according to ESPN’s Paul Finebaum.“It’s really important because, if you lose the game on either side, you’re done,” Finebaum said during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take.

“Because you still have to play Alabama in your league. You still have to play Mississippi State, which is good. They went on the road and beat Kansas State, which isn’t a bad win. You don’t survive this and have much of a chance unless you start knocking people off.”
