CFP chair Rob Mullens explains why LSU only fell to No. 7 after blowout loss vs. Alabama

The LSU Tigers hosted No. 1 Alabama over the weekend and did not fare very well, losing 29-0 in Baton Rouge.

However, when the second College Football Playoff rankings of the 2018 season came out on Tuesday night, the Tigers only fell from No. 3 to No. 7 — still ahead of one-loss teams like Washington State, West Virginia and Ohio State.

On the rankings show on ESPN, CFP committee chair Rob Mullens explained that LSU’s impressive resume was what convinced the committee the Tigers should still be that high in the rankings:
