Brian Kelly stopped inside the entrance to LSU’s team room and studied the contents of a manila folder. Dressed in a navy blue suit, striped shirt and gold tie, he looked like someone preparing for a presentation as he jotted down his final notes on the 2023 signing class.
This time last year, Kelly didn’t have one of these standard news conferences because he didn’t know enough yet about the recruits joining his team. He had inherited them two weeks before the early signing period, and he added who he could with an incomplete staff.
