For a while, Eli Ricks wasn’t getting much playing time for Alabama football.
Sure, he was part of the cornerback rotation to start the season. But outside of blowout wins over Utah State, Louisiana-Monroe and Vanderbilt, Ricks hadn’t seen much playing time at all: three defensive snaps against Arkansas, to be exact.
Then he got his chance with a starting spot against Mississippi State.
He made the most of it, allowing only one reception on nine targets for 19 yards, per Pro Football Focus. Ricks also broke up four passes.
