Prized class-of-2022 safety Jacoby Mathews takes a backseat to nobody on the 70-year old Tierney’s Mount Rushmore of players he’s mentored.
“He’s right there with the best I ever coached,” Tierney said. “He’s (former LSU safety and Pro Bowl NFL standout) Ryan Clark at 210 pounds. Ryan was 170 when he played for me. This kid is Ryan Clark and 210.”
