I don’t know the backstory here, but it’s quite conceivable that Max could have seen his future playing time threatened by 5-star quarterback commit Walker Howard. Or maybe his initial conversations with new head coach Brian Kelly didn’t go as expected. Whatever the case may be, it leaves LSU in an interesting predicament for the upcoming bowl game against Kansas State on Jan. 4.
