After the game, coach Ed Orgeron was happy to discuss Xs and Os. He shared that the LSU coaches had worked on defending the Air Raid after KJ Costello posted a record passing performance last year. LSU used a three-man front on defense, a look the Tigers had not shown on tape. Orgeron noted the 3-2-6 scheme was borrowed from Arkansas. Orgeron did not mind seeing MSU complete short passed. The Bulldogs managed 371 yards through the air.
