An unbeaten run to a national championship following one of the most memorable seasons in college football history has led to a major payday for LSU’s Ed Orgeron, who is now the nation’s second highest-paid coach.
Orgeron’s six-year extension valued at $42 million will pay him $8.7 million during the 2020 campaign, trailing only Alabama’s Nick Saban across the country.
Orgeron is 40-9 overall since taking over at LSU for Les Miles and is 11-1 in his last 12 games against Top 10 opponents, including several last season amid the best season of all-time in Baton Rouge.
