In 2012, I remember writing a column for this newspaper about then-LSU football player Tyrann Mathieu.

It was a sad and disappointing moment for Mathieu, who was coming off a sensational 2011 college football season where he was a Heisman Trophy finalist as a defensive back for the Tigers.
