For veteran cornerback Morris Claiborne, a trip to the Super Bowl seemed pretty far-fetched during a two-year run with the Jets that had far more downs than ups, as was the case for most members of that secondary from 2017-18.

However, the 29-year-old showed enough — 100 combined tackles and three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown — over those two seasons that the Chiefs were willing to take a chance on him, a move that bolstered a quickly-rebuilt defense that’s played a key role in getting Kansas City one win away from a title.
