Pelini is no stranger to LSU football, having been the program’s defensive coordinator for three seasons from 2005-07, which including a BCS National Championship during his final year with the team.

Pelini then had head coaching stops at Nebraska and Youngstown State before his decision to return to the Tigers, becoming the program’s fifth defensive coordinator since he departed for Lincoln in 2007.
