LSU tailback Chris Curry opted for national championship over transfer portal

Chris Curry got about 60 seconds of notice for his new role as LSU’s starting tailback last Saturday.

After working with the second team behind starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire in warm-ups before the game, Curry watched Oklahoma run three plays and punt with the first possession of the national semifinal Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

Then LSU coach Ed Orgeron looked at Curry and said, “When we get the ball, you’re in.”
