Houston (Tex.) North Shore is deep in the Texas High School state playoffs, facing an Atascocita team in the state quarterfinals on Saturday. That’s exactly why five-star running back Zach Evans opted to delay his commitment, originally set for Wednesday, until the Under Armour All-America Game in January in Orlando.

When speaking with Fox 26’s Mark Berman in Houston on Tuesday, the nation’s No. 1 running back said it was more of a decision to respect his team’s playoff run rather than distract from that with his college decision.
