By the numbers: How SEC Championship Game combatants Georgia and LSU stack up

Georgia, with only one player among the 22 selected to the preseason All-SEC first- and second-team defenses, has recorded a statistical grand slam.

The No. 4-ranked Bulldogs (11-1) led the SEC in total defense, scoring defense, rushing defense and pass efficiency defense at the conclusion of the regular season.

Not that there’s any time for celebration. Georgia plays No. 2 LSU (12-0) and Heisman Trophy front runner Joe Burrow at 4 p.m. next Saturday in the SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
