LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said that he was appreciative of the opportunity once granted him by Ole Miss to be its head coach.
Orgeron was the head coach of the Rebels from 2005-2007 before being fired after his team blew a 14-point, fourth-quarter lead against Mississippi State in the 2007 Egg Bowl.
The Rebels finished 3-9 and 0-8 in the SEC in his final season in Oxford. He was subsequently replaced by Houston Nutt.
