With Delpit one of the nation’s top-rated defensive backs in the class of 2017, the Tigers and every other prominent program came knocking — this time to Bradenton, Fla., where he had transferred to IMG Academy after playing at St. Thomas and Lamar high schools in Houston.

Delpit’s family uprooted from New Orleans and settled in Houston after Katrina devastated Louisiana in August 2005.
