Trade speculation surrounding Peterson and the Chiefs has popped up on occasion dating back to last season, with that talk surfacing once again over the past two months.

But Mellinger tweeted Tuesday the Cardinals will likely keep Peterson, despite the fact he’ll be missing the first six games of the season following a suspension for violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
