Though LSU predictably tumbled out of the College Football Playoff top-four rankings after its 29-0 wipeout by No. 1 Alabama, the Tigers did not fall so far that they will need help to make a New Year’s Six bowl if they can finish 10-2.

At No. 7, LSU may also not have fallen so far it still doesn’t have a long shot chance at the CFP semifinals, though that would definitely take a lot of help.
