Alabama football is known for long-standing, deep-seated rivalries. The biggest rivalries in Alabama football history have been Tennessee and Auburn. Nick Saban changed that history significantly when he became the LSU coach in 2000. He changed it even more by when he left the NFL and returned to college football.
In the minds of many Alabama fans, LSU is now a bigger rival than Tennessee.
