LSU will honor the late Billy Cannon, the school’s only Heisman Trophy winner, with a statue to be unveiled Sept. 28, the night before LSU hosts Ole Miss in Baton Rouge, a nod to Cannon’s Tigers legacy, the university announced Wednesday.
Cannon’s most memorable performance came in his Heisman-winning senior season in 1959 against Ole Miss.
