LSU’s secondary went from thin to full of competition rather quickly with the addition of Stanford graduate transfer Terrence Alexander and getting former five-star cornerback Kristian Fulton healthy again.
Head coach Ed Orgeron said on the Southeastern Conference’s weekly coaches teleconference that the depth has changed completely.
“Obviously, moving our guys around, putting them in position to play. Dave Aranda, the addition of Bill Busch at safety has allowed us to do more things. Corey Raymond, obviously, has done a great job for us,” Orgeron said on Wednesday’s coaches teleconference. “Now we have two defensive backfield coaches so we can do more things. We can move Grant around, Jacoby Stevens, Kristian Fulton, Kelvin Joseph and we still got Jontre Kirklin to play so we got a lot of guys to play there. We think that we have found some depth in that area. Obviously, the return of Kristian Fulton has helped us. I think we’re in good shape there.”
