LSU attained its highest preseason ranking in the college football magazines, checking in at No. 17 in the annual Street & Smith’s Yearbook.
Athlon Sports tabbed LSU at No. 26 on its release and Lindy’s Sports pegged the Tigers four spots lower at No. 30 so Street & Smith’s was the first Top 25 ranking to hit the newsstands.
