All Derek Stingley Jr. could do was glance at The Dunham School’s football coach Neil Weiner and grin right after a 7-on-7 game played Friday at the Central High Stadium.
“So … June 20th, that’s a big day right?” Weiner said tongue-in-cheek. “You turn 17. Yes, that’s it.”Stingley is indeed turning 17 on June 20, but he is scheduled to provide a huge gift for one ravenous college football fan base that day.
The nation’s consensus No. 1 cornerback prospect, Stingley lists Florida, LSU and Texas as his finalists and announced he will commit on his birthday.
