May 21, 2018May 21, 2018 LSU Football Report Private ceremony to be held for LSU legend Billy Cannon; public event to be announced A private ceremony has been announced for Billy Cannon, who died in his sleep Sunday at the age of 80. Plans for a public ceremony for later in the week will be announced, according to an LSU Athletics news release. The Cannon family asked that donations be made to the Tiger Athletic Foundation Billy Cannon Endowed Scholarship and Johnny Robinson’s Boys Home in lieu of flowers.
