For one thing, Josh Booty, Rohan Davey, Matt Mauck, JaMarcus Russell, Matt Flynn, Mettenberger and Danny Etling were in fact all drafted. Make light of their lack of NFL success if you wish – particularly 2007’s No. 1 overall pick, Russell, who became one of the biggest busts in draft history – but it’s still a fact. Then there is this inconvenient truth: LSU’s quarterback play is not as bad as it’s been made out to be.
