April 26, 2018April 26, 2018 LSU Football Report LSU recruiting: Will 5-star DT Ishmael Sopsher wind up at LSU, Alabama? 5-star DT Ishmael Sopsher, the No. 1-ranked defensive tackle in the Class of 2019, has long been a priority target for LSU. He earned an offer from coach Ed Orgeron as a sophomore within days of landing the interim job in 2016. Before that, Orgeron was Sopsher’s personal recruiter in Tangipahoah Parish. The 5-star defensive lineman was at LSU a handful of times this spring, including elite junior day and the first day of spring practices in March. The only other visits he has made were to Texas A&M last week and the Alabama spring game last Saturday.
