April 23, 2018April 23, 2018 LSU Football Report Battling it out: As spring concludes, the scoop on LSU’s starting position battles All eyes this spring were on LSU’s quarterback competition, and rightfully so. The QB spot is the most important in football, and so it should draw much of the focus. But the Tigers entered spring practice with as many as 10 starting positions up for grabs. At spring’s conclusion, coach Ed Orgeron did not announce a starter at any of those 10 positions, but there was movement at each, of course. Some spots now have a new leader.
