It’s like an old Army buddy used to say, “No team has ever won the National Championship in September.” That may be true, but that won’t stop LSU Football Report from making our prediction for the LSU vs. BYU Game.
Prediction: LSU is going to paddle that BYU Cougar ass and win by 30. That’s a good start on the National Championship. ESPN has LSU at -15.5. BYU wishes it would be that close.
Offense:
QB: Danny “My Back Don’t Hurt No Mo” Etling will do his job and do it well. With Matt “I’m not Canadian” Canada’s new offense I expect to see him throwing the ball for over 200 yards. I also expect to see Myles Brennan come in late in the game once LSU runs up the score.
RB: Derrius “The Juice is Loose” Guice will get his fair share of carries, yards and highlights. But don’t be surprised to see Darrel ” Wild Man” Williams get some too. Maybe even Lanard “I’m Not Leonard” Fournette and the others will get in once LSU gets tired of scoring at will. With a blowout like this is going to be, it won’t hurt to get the other RBs some time on the field. Hell, I could probably even rip off a 50 yarder with LSU’s O-Line against BYU.
Receivers: Expect to see the new #7 D.J. “The Shark” Chark make some big plays and highlight catches.
Defense: The defense is going to open up a big old can of whoop ass and make Tanner Mangum cry. BYU’s offense will look so inept, Coach Detmer will probably bring in the back up QB who will look even sillier against the LSU Defense. He’ll probably cry too.
Special Teams. Not to say I don’t care, but it really won’t matter much in this game. I do want to see Donte “Action” Jackson’s speed as he runs back a touchdown or two as a punt returner.
Disclaimer: Nicknames provided to LSU players are based on the unimaginative talents of the LSU Football Report staff and have no basis in reality.
